A few worlds we're building.
Come play one.

These are free games in your browser, on a computer or a phone, with no sign-up. Your progress saves in your own browser. They're works in progress, so you'll see them grow, and what you think shapes where they go next.

The trailer: about a minute of Wildbond and Starfall, recorded from the games themselves.

What we're going for

Real games, not menusPlaces and people instead of buttons. You walk to the shop, kneel by the creature, serve the meal. The screen is the world.
Deep worlds with a storyOld-school soul, like early Pokémon or classic WoW: lore worth finding, threads that pay off later, and choices the world remembers.
Play your wayThe journey and the grind are the fun, and you set the pace. Help comes from characters you earn (a cook, a smith, your creatures), never from a paywall. Nothing plays itself.

Wildbond

The valley of Larkhaven has lost its colour. Choose a young creature as your partner, and as trust grows between you, the world remembers its colours. Travel eight areas, earn eight badges, befriend creatures instead of capturing them, raise a team on Maren's ranch, and take on the league.

Inside Maren's barn, colour flooding out as the player chooses Ripplet
Choosing your partner in Maren's barn. The bond brings the colour back.
A battle: Ripplet against Mosshog on a grassy field, with Fight, Guard, Rally, Bond, Bag and Run
Turn-based battles. Fight, Guard against big attacks, Rally your team, or Bond to befriend.
Thornwood, faded to grey, with tall grass and a trainer on the path
A faded area before its colour returns. Tall grass hides wild creatures.
Saltmarsh Coast in full colour: sand, sea, reeds and tamers
Saltmarsh Coast, restored.
The nursery stall in the barn with two creatures and an egg
The nursery: two creatures, an egg that hatches while you travel.
A creature page: Ripplet wearing a leather harness, with its stats
Gear your creatures wear, and you can see it on them.

What you'll do

  • Explore paths, tall grass and towns on foot.
  • Battle tamers on the road and the Warden of each area.
  • Befriend wild creatures with lures and patience.
  • Raise, evolve and breed your team. Some creatures change in more than one way, depending on where and how you raise them.

Your first ten minutes

  1. Pick a partner in Maren's barn. Each has an element that beats another: see the chart below.
  2. Battle your rival Wren in town.
  3. Walk north into Thornwood. Step into tall grass to meet wild creatures.
  4. Heal with Maren in Larkhaven whenever your team is tired.

If you're lost

  • The Journal says where to go next.
  • Losing a lot? Go back to the grass near town and raise your team a few levels. Badges raise the level cap.
  • Choose moves that hit hard against the foe's element, and Guard when a foe is "gathering power".
  • To befriend a creature, weaken it first, then Bond.
Two versions. The browser version is the full journey today: eight areas, the league and beyond. The new version (pictured) is an early preview of where Wildbond is going: the whole world on foot, the faded valley regaining its colour, music, the nursery, gear and your family's heritage. It covers the whole journey: all eight areas, the league and the Champion, with the four seasons and festivals. On a computer: arrows or WASD to walk, Enter or a click to talk, J for your field book. On a phone: the pad in the corner walks, the button beside it talks, and a tap on the bag opens your field book. A gamepad works too. Sound, text size and battle pace are on the book's Settings page. It takes a moment to load.

Realmbound

v1.9.2 · A note for the road

New hero: open Road note for your next step and keyboard or touch hints. Turn your phone either way; the note stays optional. Returning hero: keep your save. Road help in Options can show the notes again if you want them.

A single-player world in the spirit of classic online RPGs. Create a hero, take quests, gear up and grow from level 1 to 60 across eight zones, each with its own light and weather. The world fills the screen, with your journal and satchel in hand. Then lead a guild of adventurers who work, rest and have their own stories, through dungeons (with harder Heroic versions) and a raid.

Realmbound's road with a hero on the way
The road between towns.
A Realmbound town hearth
Towns you walk around: inns, smiths and quest givers.

What you'll do

  • Quest, fight with your class's abilities, loot and equip.
  • Walk towns, visit the inn and the smithy, and walk the road to the Lantern Rest, an inn on the way to town.
  • Recruit a guild, send them on jobs and hear their stories.
  • Run dungeons (with Heroic versions) and a raid at 60.

Your first fifteen minutes

  1. Create a hero: faction, race, class, name and journey length.
  2. Follow the first quest; the Quests tab shows what's needed.
  3. Use your abilities yourself at first, then try Auto.
  4. Loot, compare gear in your bags, and turn the quest in.

If you're lost

  • Quests tab first: it names the enemy or item and where.
  • Hurt? Rest at the inn and repair your gear.
  • Pick fights closer to your level.
  • The field guide explains every system.

Diamond Manager

You are the new general manager of the Brackenport Lanterns, the worst club in a six-club league. Watch each game play out on Lamplight Field, then make the calls: the batting order, trades, free agents, contracts and ballpark upgrades. Thirty games make a season; the top two meet in a final.

How to play

  1. Press Play ball (or Space) to watch the next game. Speed it up or skip to the final score.
  2. Open the Front office (or F) to change the team.
  3. Every player has ratings from 0 to 99. Better ratings win more.

What you'll do

  • Trade with five rival clubs; they say yes or how far apart you are.
  • Sign free agents inside the owner's budget.
  • Spend the gate money on seats, lights, training rooms and more.

More in the works

Otherworld Prototype

Live one life in another world, with a gift that changes the choices you see. Three worlds so far: Asterhold, whose town changes with what you do; Hearthmere, a shuttered lakeside inn and a long winter; and the Ashen Throne. When a life ends, you keep a memory into the next.

Starfall Preview

Starfall, a log-walled frontier town: the inn, a tavern, a stone smithy, a healer's hut and a training yard along a mud road inside the palisade

Run a frontier guild town: post jobs on the board, serve stew at the counter, work the forge, and grow from a hamlet into a market town as your adventurers grow. Walk with the arrows, WASD or a click; Enter or E to use the board, the counter and the forge; M for music, N for sound effects. Play the new Starfall (preview) →

And later

A walk-in arcade where your characters meet, a shared catalogue of creatures across games, and more sports careers. Every game is playable on its own, in one light, shared universe.

Wildbond element chart

Read across from the attacking move's element. Strong means half again as much damage, and weak means about a third less. A creature also hits harder with moves of its own element.

The ten-minute playtest

Got ten minutes? Pick one game, play until the stopping point, then answer three questions. No need to finish anything or be good at it. Where you got stuck is exactly what we want to hear.

1. Pick one and play until…

  • Wildbond: you've chosen a partner in Maren's barn and battled Wren.
  • Realmbound: you've made a hero and finished the first quest.
  • Diamond Manager: you've played a week of games and made one change in the Front office.
  • Storm Front: three runs, or one with a friend taking turns.

2. Answer three questions

  1. What was the best moment?
  2. Where were you stuck, confused or bored?
  3. Would you play again tomorrow? Why, or why not?

3. Send it

Open ⚙ Settings in the game and choose Tell us → Share feedback. The game and version are filled in for you. No GitHub account? Message Evan your three answers; a screenshot helps.

Tell us what you think

One good moment and one rough edge is the most helpful thing you can send. Each game has Tell us in its ⚙ Settings (and many have a Feedback button in the top bar) that fills in the game, version and where you are. Or just message Evan: a screenshot and a sentence is perfect.
